Pinch nerve: A "corn" is thick skin that your body makes to prevent your shoe pressure from causing a blister. The nerve to the toe typically runs under the corn, and with continued pressure from the shoe this nerve starts to get impinged, bruised and therefore start to cause burning pain.

See a podiatrist: Who can remove the corn and off you a permenant solution if it is a recurring corn. Be very careful if you attempt to use over the counter acids, i think they can be dangerous. You can try filing the corn yourself with an emory board.
