Yes and no!: Sympathetic and empathetic pain do exist. You are having empatheitic pain when thinking of something painful. Most do not expereince it, but it is not abnormal!

Yes: Pain can definitely be affected by psychosocial factors. It's not uncommon in my practice to hear patients tell me that their pain varies with things such as mood, stress, and state of mind. Thus thinking of something painful can stimulate parts of the brain and release neurochemicals involved in the processing of pain.
