Hair loss: You most likely have what is called a telogen effluvium. This type of hair loss is caused by the hair going into a shedding phase. Causes include illness, major physical trauma, menopause, crash diets, severe psychological stress, hypo-or hyperthyroidism, anemia, blood loss, chronic illness, liver or kidney disease, medications, and others.
