Certain symptoms suggest the possibility--fever, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, abd pain from a swollen spleen, and unusual tiredness or malaise. Mono can even trigger a rash in some. However, there are many other illnesses that share very similar symptoms. You need to be tested.
