A member asked:

How long could a person survive with stage 4 cirrhosis caused by hepatitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

For Years: In general, once cirrhosis develops, it usually takes another 8-10 years for the liver to "fail" or begin having problems doing its job. Having cirrhosis also puts you at risk of developing liver cancer. The standard is to screen for this every 6 months with an ultrasound. You should talk to your doctor about this.
