How are dentures put on? is the process painful?

Typically: All of your teeth are removed maybe upper, lower or both. After sufficient healing, impressions are taken and then after several appointments of try-ins, they are completed and placed in your mouth resting on your gums. Depending on several factors -size of remaining ridge, "toughness" of gums, any opposing teeth, you may or may not have pain & you may need adjustments to the bite and the length.

No: There may be some sore spots that require adjustment but dentures in general are not painful (but if you are having extractions at the same time there can me much more discomfort) if you are a candidate it is almost always better to have 2 or more implants placed to make an overdenture appliance which is more stable and comfortable than a full denture.

Maybe Implants: Dentures move all around. If you can have 4-6 mini-implants, then the denture can snap onto these implants thereby keeping them from moving. Remember that not all patients are good candidates for implants. If yor are, then do it if you can afford the cost.

No : The denture process usually involves 5 steps, two involving impressions of your mouth, a step to record your bite a try in with the teeth set in wax and finally delivery. The process is not painful.

The process: Of fabricating the denture/s is not painful. Once the dentures are inserted and you start functioning with them, you might experience some mild discomfort. The discomfort is easily corrected by adjusting the flanges of the dentures to remove the areas of irritation. If the proper sequence of steps is incorporated into the fabrication of dentures, the adjustments are usually minimal. Hope this.
