Rinse debris: It sounds like pericornitis which is the inflamation of the tissue overlying an erupting tooth.. If food collects under this flap, infection and pain can occur. Rinse thourughly with a diluted solution of peroxide and mouthwash, otc nsaids and clean under the flap arefully. Maintain it clean. If the pain does not go away, see you dentist.
