Limited or systemic?: Osteoarthritis is wear and tear on specific joints. This is common in the hands, knees, shoulder, hips, etc - joints that have been used a lot. Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic (whole body) inflammation that can affect many joints and can even give symptoms like fever, weakness, or fatigue - not just localized pain.
