Not common: While it is not common, it can happen. Distal tendon repair creates local trauma where several nerves and blood vessels travel. Swelling from surgery can cause pressure on nerves so pain and even sometimes numbness can happen. It should not last long, and be sure to follow up closely with your surgeon and share any concerns and ask questions, especially if it continues or worsens.
