D2 D3 and more: Vitamin d2 (ergocalciferol) is a "prodrug" meaning it must be converted to its active form - d3 - to be beneficial. That being said, knowing your vit d3 level can be more helpful. Vitamin d3 levels in the 50 ng/ml range are considered optimal. Remember, sunlight, fatty fish, fortified foods and even shitake mushrooms can all contribute to vitamin d levels. Proper levels ensure proper immune fnxn.

D2 not so good : I do not recommend d2 supplementation it by rx only and at 50, 000 iu but it is less effective than d3 shoot for a d3 level of >50 <100 recommended dosing is ~1000iu/25# body weight this should give you a good vit d level in about 3 months or recheck level then/ good website vitamindcouncil.Org much good info there do not worry about low d2 concentrate on d3.
