Ask your doctor: Your physician should never resist your desire for more information about your condition, and should supply you with colleagues in your area who can give you a second opinion. We only want what is best for our patients, and personally, i frequently offer the opportunity to seek a second opinion in particularly difficult situations.

Your Dr. can help.: Some specialists require a referral from another provider and others accept self-referrals. Does your health insurance company specify if they require a referral from a primary care provider or another specialist? Would discuss with your physician who may be able to assist with obtaining a second opinion.
