Upper body: If you have a feeling that your foot is fractured or sprained you should see a doctor and get it diagnosed and treated. It is reasonable to use pain as your guide as to what you can do or not do.In general, upper extremity exercises can be done seated, and non impact activities like swimming are doable. Sprains usually heal in 2-6 weeks , fractures in 6-8 weeks. Once again pain is your guide.

Depends: Depends on what is sprained and or fractured and how badly lisfranc injuries can take almost forever to heal but some other types of injuries can be back to close to normal pretty quickly sounds like you need a diagnosis.

Depends: It really depends completely on what your exact diagnosis is. Is it a strain or a fracture? And what structures are involved? Some foot injuries, patients can continue activities as tolerated, some injuries you need to be strictly non weight bearing. If you have not been checked, i would encourage you to do so. Thank you for your question.

Limit weight bearing: You may do upper body exercises as long as they are not causing you to put extra pressure on you foot. You should limit running and elliptical exercises until you have significant radiographic signs of healing.
