Why does just regular coca-cola help my itchy throat due to allergies?

Post-nasal drip?: Good morning, that is an interesting question which I have not been asked in the forty years of practice. I can only postulate that effect of cold liquid washing down the post-nasal drip, thus relieving the irritation in the back of the throat. I would like to know if you find relief of sneezing after drinking coca-cola. In that case, it may have effect on the allergy itself. Good discussion.
