Tylenol (acetaminophen): First what reason for giving? Fever or pain? In children follow directions. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or children's Motrin is symptomatic. If fever greater 102 sometimes Motrin is better. Fever lower like 101 tylenol (acetaminophen) may be best. Motrin could cause stomach upset. But use accurate thermometer/ rectal temp most taccurate. Oral may be difficult. Armpit most inaccurate. Earp thermometers maybe. What's age, what's reaso.

Wait: The dosing interval of tylenol (acetaminophen) is based on the speed with which it is broken down in the body, in this case in the liver. Early or excessive dosing begins to overload the livers ability to break down the medicine without injury. Most kids need no medications during a cold, it will pass naturally.
