Pls clarify/depends.: Since your husband has one stone at the end of the ureter, it might be a good idea to have him drink a lot of fluids and let it pass. As for the other, that might need a medical procedure, like eswl (extracorporial shock wave lithotripsy) to get it out. It's wise for him to see his doctor to get examined and decide the best course, but something should be done. Good luck.

Location location: Kidney stones could be "obstructing" or "non obstructing". Beyond treating these stones, your husband needs to take preventive steps to prevent further stones from forming. This includes water intake. A nephrologist (kidney specialist) should be able to order special urine studies to determine the cause of stone formation and prescribe customized treatment.
