A member asked:

I had a ct scan yesterday and was told i have inflammation on the right side of brain and was given cefdinir to take my pain is getting worse?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Consult your doctor: Something doesn't add up here. Ct usually does not help make a diagnosis of brain inflammation, even with contrast/dye. Brain inflammation is usually best seen on an MRI study, and is usually from encephalitis, which is usually from a viral infection. Cefinir is an antibiotics, used for bacterial infection treatment. I suspect what showed up on the ct was sinusitis. Please check your doctor.
