A member asked:

My tubes have been tied for 6 years. my periods are regular. i am 2 weeks late. i tools a test 5 days ago and it was negative. could i be pregnant

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: "tying your tubes" should not affect your periods, so being late is independent of that. No contraceptive method is 100% effective, and some methods of tubal ligation have failure rates as high as 1/200. If you're not pregnant, then you may want evaluation for your irregular menses.
