Avoid prednisone: While adverse reactions (side effects) to oral steroids are common, there is a small percentage of individuals who actually have an allergy to a particular steroid. Side effects can usually be minimized by limiting the dose and duration of treatment. For a true Prednisone allergy, it would be necessary to avoid that drug and use one of the other corticosteroid drugs.
