Sensi-/specificity: The oral test is approved as a screen for hiv. It detects both hiv1&2. That said, it's not as specific as serum elisa. Most infected will test + by elisa at 4 wks, it is usually recommended to re-test at 6 mos. If risky behavior (sex, especially w/commercial sex worker, Cocaine use, injection drug use, etc) continues, frequent testing should be routine. You might discuss prep w/your doctor.
