Yes: The uterus is so small an abdominal sonogram would not see the embryo. A pelvic sonogram would be able to get a closer look at what's in he uterus since it is small and deep in the pelvis.

No: Something does not make sense. For ultrasound to see a gestation, even with transvaginal scanning, it's at least 5 weeks or so, not 1 or 2 weeks.
