No: Although the embryo does start making HCG (pregnancy hormone) very early, in order for it to be detected in the blood the early placenta needs to be developed and allow for passage of this hormone into the maternal circulation. A positive HCG level following ivf egg collection will be from the residual HCG in your system following the HCG trigger shot. This HCG is usually gone by 9 days after shot.
