Should be OK.: If your doc is not comfortable with that request find a different doctor. In fact, if the doc did not discuss the choice of medication with you to begin with you should consider finding someone who can communicate.

Should be fine...: If your doctor acts like a dictator or god, move on. You should always participate in your own care. Stay informed and involved, always!
