Need to heal: Do you use latex gloves? They can be irritating as well. If painful and angry red could be infected. Generic bactroban (mupirocin) is the safest topical antibiotic. Topical vit d 3 oil on the irritated skin can be helpful. Avoid irritants until it heals by using non-latex gloves if in food preparation. Use plain soap and water for cleaning hands.
