Depends: There are many different reasons breast lumps form. When you are in your teens and twenties the majority of causes are benign. As you enter your forties the risk of malignant (cancer) causes goes up. The only way to know for sure is to look at a piece of the lump under a microscope (biopsy). If a lump has been stable for many years with no changes u may be able to watch. If not, biopsy.
