Fibrocystic disease?: Young women can commonly have lumpy breasts, usually caused by a benign condition called fibrocystic disease. This will usually be worse before your period, since it is affected by hormones and fluid retention. Reducing caffeine intake often helps it. Get checked by a doctor to be sure this is what you have. Good luck!

Physician Review: Palpable lumps in the breast may or may not be significant. Any palpable nodule in the breast should be reviewed by a physician who is experienced in breast review; surgeon, OB gyn, pcp. The provider should have access to high resolution ultrasound for an in depth review of the palpable area. Treatment options range from conservative observation to surgical excision, biopsy. Seek physician review.
