Many Possibilities: They could be swollen taste buds, blisters, cancer, trauma from biting your tongue, cysts ... The point being there are many possibilities. The only real answer will come when you visit your dentist and get them examined.

Irritations: Could be the taste buds have been irritated and need to heal. Stay off smoking and spicy foods and let them heal.
