Symptoms and test: Dairy reactions can be lactose iintolerance (milk sugar) with symptoms limited to GI tract like crampy abdominal pain, gassiness and diarrhea. Milk skin test is negative. Milk allergy (to milk protein) may have GI symptoms but also rash, hives, swelling, or even anaphylaxis. Milk skin test will be positive.
