A member asked:

Is there a way to reduce a peanut allergy so i won't need an epi-pen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Peanut allergy: Unfortunately for now, you will need to carry your epipen (epinephrine). Research on food oral immunotherapy is being done in children, xolair may also attenuate the response to peanuts, but you still need your Epinephrine injector. If your Epipen (epinephrine) is too bulky for you, ask your doctor about auviq, it is a new device that offers the same effect and is less bulky to carry around.
