Meet at coffee shop: Assuming there is a cat at the home, even if the cat if placed outside or in a different room, there can be enough dander present to trigger a substantial allergic reaction. Even if the carpet, furniture and draperies is vacuumed, windows are opened and the friend takes antihistamines, the symptoms can still occur. To help your friend, don't meet inside the house where there are/were cats.
