Canker sore: Canker sores can be quite painful. Avoid spicy hot foods. OTC products can help ease the pain for awhile. Generally it will take 7-10 days for a canker sore to heal. If you have not had this before, then It is a good idea to see a dentist to confirm that this is a canker sore and not something else.

Canker sores: Canker sores usually heal in 7-10 days. In the meantime, avoid spicy foods and anything that irritates the sore. Orabase Ointment (OTC) from the pharmacy is an oral bandage. Apply it to the sore before meals. See your dentist for treatment, either a topical medication, or laser treatment to cauterize the canker sore.

Change toothpaste: If you get a large # of cancer sores, change your toothpaste to 1 that is"SLS free" SLS is a detergent added to most toothpastes as well as shampoos so you feel that foaming action. This ingredient exacerbates cancer sores termed as aphthous ulcers. A few examples of toothpaste are Toms, Rembrandt and Biotene. But it must say SLS free.
