A member asked:

I have a severe allergy to shellfish, but desperately wants to go to japan. what precautionary measures can i take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No shellfish: Take your Epipen (epinephrine) everywhere you go to eat. Make sure you tell your servers you are very allergic and avoid any shared plates with shellfish on them. Get the word for all shellfish in japanese and spell them out to them so they know not to serve it to you. Be very careful.
