Depends: Depending on the severity of the pain and what has been tried, you could control your pain by anti-inflammatory meds, pain meds, opioid meds, physical therapy, cervical epidural steroid injection, fusion surgery or spinal cord stimulator. Neurosurgeon or pain management doctors can help you.

Therapy/medication: Initially a short course of anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and physical therapy can help. Sometimes injections can be used to help decrease the pain and facilitate therapy. Surgery should be reserved as a last resort.

Several things can: First, time is the best "healer" with 90% getting better non op. You can also consider: medication, traction, a soft cervical collar, actvity modification, exercises/physical therapy, possible epidural steroid injections and if no improvement, possibly surgery with a 90% success rate as well. If you smoke, stop as this is a real negative impact not only on your health, but on your spine.
