A member asked:

I was wondering is it bad to have 57% of iron on my blood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Transferrin sat: I think you must mean your transferrin saturation is 57%. Normal for a man is up to 50%, and for a women up to 40-45%. To interpret whether this is an issue or not, one would also need to know your total iron level, total iron binding capacity (tibc), and ferritin level. Please see a hematologist if this is a concern for you, or if your primary care doctor can't explain things satisfactorily.
