Starvation: A starving person who is of normal weight to start and drinks fluids with some sodium and potassium can live 45-60 days without solid food, but may be comatose for the last days. Any additional sources of calories like sugars prolong survival--indeed some patients with anorexia live many months on the edge of starvation, and may ultimately die of heart rhythm problems.
