Im on cipro, (ciprofloxacin) and it said to not take calcium with it.how long after i take it can i have calcium? thanks

6 hours before..: And 2 hours after you take the pill, no milk products and no calcium antacids. Calcium can sit around a long time waiting to trap the antibiotic—almost 6 hours at worst. Hence the long time frame before the pill dosing. With a clear path though the antibiotic will absorb by 2 hours and the coast is clear to ingest—safely-- any future calcium after 2 hours.

Cations: Any cations (calcium, zink, etc) will bind to ciprofloxaxin and therebye inhibit absorption. Therefore, you should wait at least two hours between the time you swallow ciprofloxaxin and any cations. It does not matter the order; just keep them two hours apart.
