A member asked:

Was told that ciprofloxacin should not be taken with iron/calcium products. does this only apply to supplements or whole foods too (e.g. veg/meat)?

No worries: This is a theoretical concern only; the actual effect of iron or calcium on ciprofloxacin absorption is small. You should avoid taking a large dose of antacid (or iron pills) simultaneously with cipro. Otherwise don't worry about it. Certainly the calcium or iron in foods has no signficant effect.
