Yes: For open and laparoscopic inguinal hernia operations, i tell my patients to return to call mental activity as tolerated by pain. This is a variable amount of time, but usually most people after open inguinal hernia operations are back to normal activity at 2 to 3 weeks. If any complications arise, obviously this may not hold. There are also exceptions to this rule. Good luck!
