A member asked:

What is osteoarthrofibrosis in the knee? why does my knee grind and click and is painful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Grinding: The grinding and clicking in the knee is usually due to some "wear and tear" under the kneecap (patella). As long as it is not painful it is not worrisome. While it may be a harbinger for osteoarthritis no one can predict how quickly it will accelerate.
