Magnesium: One of the most common causes of cramps in the toes, feet, and calves is magnesium deficiency. This deficiency can also cause coldness of extremities, migraine headaches, pms, "brain fog", difficulty breathing, anxiety, and other symptoms. Taking 400 mg of magnesium oxide, chelated, or another form of magnesium (with food) can help relieve all these symptoms.

Lack of support: Toe cramping is a sign of muscle fatigue. If you have flat feet or lack of support in your shoes you may be experiencing this. Best to stretch your toes and calf muscles and try otc superfeet inserts in your shoes. If not improved you may need a more custom device. Also make sure your electrolytes are in balance.

Few considerations: Overuse of intrinsic muscles, dehydration, vitamin deficiency, side effect of a medication. I would rule those out as most common causes.
