Is throat itching and headache a symptom of commin cold?

Itching: Any itching is usually do to allergies. This seems to be more of an allergy than a common cold, but it can behave the same. Use allergy medicines, over the counter, ie, zyrtec, Claritin (loratadine) , etc.
