After missed period: It would be better to do the test 4-5 days after a missed period, use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the package carefully. You may see your doctor for a blood test one day after a missed period.

Hpt: If you have been sexually active and have missed your period then you can go ahead and take a home pregnancy test (HPT) now. If negative and still no period would repeat HPT in a week. Take care.
