How long will it take for my jaw to stop aching / throbbing after having wisdom teeth out? it was done under general anaesthetic 6 days ago

By about now: Much of your discomfort should have abated by now. If not, call your oral surgeon and ask him to take a look. You may have a dry socket (washed-out clot) that is easily treatable.

It depends: It depends on why your jaw is aching. If the surgery involved significant bone removal and gum retraction, then this might be normal healing and will last up to 10 days or so. It could also be due to "dry socket", bone inflammation caused by leakage around the blood clot, that can go on for 2-3 weeks or longer. See the dentist surgeon who did the extractions for a follow up to find out.
