OK, and....: This is very little information to go on, but if you think you're getting a cold/flu, you may want to go out and get zinc lozenges, since zinc has been proven to inhibit the attachment of adenovirus to the throat early on in the course of disease. Drink plenty of fluids, keep warm, and take vitamin c. If this fails, see the doctor.

Have it checked out: How long? Fevers? Tiredness? Swallowing problems? Breathing problems? Trouble opening your mouth? Hot potato voice? A one-sided throat problem if you are having the problems above, can be a sign of a peritonsillar abscess (pus behind the tonsil) that would need to be treated by a doctor. Other one-sided throat problems occur, check with your doctor.
