Possibly w/surgery: Adults with painful deformities that fail nonoperative care can consider surgical correction. Whether or not you are a candidate can only be answered after a thorough examination and discussion with an experienced spinal deformity surgeon. If surgery is not an option other possiblities include long term pain meds (although discouraged) or possibly a spinal cord stimulator.

Further testing: Further testing may be needed to determine the specific cause of your pain. We will often use the expertise of an interventional pain specialist to treat the pain. If all else fails, either a spinal reconstruction procedure to correct your curve or doing more of a palliative surgery for your pain such as a spinal cord stimulator are the two choices commonly used. Thank you for your question.
