Nerve compression: The fact that the pinky and ring finger are affected suggests that a nerve called the ulnar nerve is being compressed. It could be from the position you sleep in. If the numbness goes away when you're up and moving then it is probably not serious. If the numbness doesn't go away or gets worse you should see a doctor to find out what is wrong.
