Why do doctors wear glasses?

2 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Same as anyone else: To correct refractive error and presbyopia. This is something that simply happens to people and that no "healthy lifestyle" business can prevent or correct. I wear lab safety glasses for safety and because they're harder to break; i dislike contacts and have a few good reasons for declining the offer of surgery. I make my own decisions and trust that you do as well. Thanks for asking.

Different reasons: Some doctors wear glasses because they need them to correct their vision. Most if not all doctors wear glasses to protect their eyes while performing a procedure where there may be a potential risk of something possibly affecting the eyes.
