It is a flexible intrauterine device that is placed through the vagina by a healthcare provider. Mirena releases a continuous dose of hormone (levonorgestrel) to prevent pregnancy for up to five years. There have been problems reported with it and you should see your gynecologist.

Mirana: Perhaps you can't tolerate the Progesterone product. Check with you gyno to make sure placement is correct and ge her advice.
