This could include something as easy as tracking calories, walking more or as elaborate as getting a personal trainer/chef or joining a health club or weight watchers program. The most important thing to consider is whether the weight loss will be sustainable over the long run.

Weight watchers: The weight watchers program, if adhered to, is a good one for obese patients. The journaling, point system, and group sessions have been very effective. There still needs to be an exercise component. However, the success of any one program in all individuals is doubtful. Best to seek the opinion of your md and/or dietitian to determine a diet and exercise plan that is right just for you.
