Fever at 103.7, 2weeks after inguinal hernia repair. fever has stayed for 7days. at er i did not test positive for flu, other test were normal. cause?

Talk to Surgeon ASAP: There are many possible causes of a postop fever, but the one most concerning after your operation would be a wound infection (esp if mesh was used). A fever of 103.7 cannot be assumed to be viral--this requires a thorough evaluation. Please contact your surgeon asap.

Difficult: Need more info. Do you have any symptoms? Do you have pain or swelling or redness at the surgical site? Any other symptoms? Did they give you antibiotics?
