A member asked:

What is the objective test if you suspect the anesthetic from epidural migrated into subdural space and caused profound muscle weakness?

See neurologist : If the problem is acute, please go to the nearest emergency room as soon as possible. You need to be evaluated by the neurologist.

Nothing certain: Can be found objectively. Residual anesthetic will have dissipated quickly and then been metabolized. Profound muscle weakness immediately following epidural placement is suggestive, but not confirmatory. Also, systemic signs of decreased BP and breathing difficulties might also have ocurred.
